License to...

License to do not a damn thing because I don't have one.  Why you might ask?  Well, there are a lot of reasons.

  • didn't want to become my mother's chauffeur/personal assistant like my poor sister  HAHA
  • didn't want the added responsibility...bills, insurance, gas, keeping a car clean...whatever
  • definitely did not to want drive drunk...lol

Well, I'm less than a year and a half away from turning 30, and I guess it's time...or my boyfriend says it's time.  I'll be taking the pre-licensing class this Saturday, and my boyfriend has been finding the best deal on the car I'm (we're) getting.

Let me introduce you to Molly*, the 2010 Ford Edge SEL.

Sexy, huh?

I haven't driven in like 7 years.  And it's not like I was extremely good at it then.  This shall be interesting to say the least.

I really don't want any extra expenses, but whatever.

*name may change

All Oils are Created Equal? Maybe Not...

VS.

I can't say how long I've been using coconut oil on my hair and body, but three years is a good estimate.  Until this week, the only coconut oil that I had used (aside from those mixed with other oils) was the refined cooking oil made by LouAna.   Because I had nothing to compare it to, I thought that it was good just as it was and there couldn't have been that big of a difference between the refined and unrefined.

I.WAS.WRONG.

I broke down and bought some unrefined earlier this week.  The same night, I used it for an oil rinse.  This is some good stuff.   It looked different.   It felt different.  It smelled different.  I could not believe it.   My hair is STILL soft after three days...and that's after cowashing every night.

This is not meant to discourage you from buying a refined oil.  Like I said before, the refined brand worked just fine for me all these years.  But to say that there is no difference is just wrong.

And this will be the only time I ever admit I was wrong.  lol

New Products! yaaaaaaaay!!!

I am always searching for body washes because my body drinks the stuff.  A typical bottle of body wash wont last 2 weeks in my shower.  I don't know why.  I don't shower excessively (I actually hate showering *shrugs*). I don't use a lot of product at one time.   It just doesn't last.   The good thing about that is that I get to try a lot of different products because I know that if I don't like it, I won't have to use it much longer.

Two days ago, I bought St. Ives Mineral Therapy.

I have to say that I really like this.   The smell is very relaxing and it does not dry my skin out.  And I think it's made with no animal products.     Not too bad for a cheapie, drugstore body wash.

Hmmm....what else did I buy....oh yeah!   Tresemme Naturals Nourishing Conditioner with Aloe Vera and Avocado.

Yeah, no silicones...blah blah blah blah...I generally don't care about all of that.  Don't get me wrong,  I keep a stash of CG friendly conditioners but I will honestly try just about anything.   I cowashed and used this as a leave-in for two days and I had an awesome wash n go both days.   It gives a decent amount of slip and a nice smell...and it's cheap.

I'm going to act like that was all I bought recently.   Stay tuned to find out how unrefined coconut oil compares to the refined...I'm sure you all know how this turns out lol

Let's Start This Thing Off

First entry. Not about anything in particular...I can't tell you what to expect from this blog because I don't know what the people in my head will tell me to write. I'm sure it'll be a mix of insane ramblings about hair, hair products, and wine...

Sounds exciting, huh?
